We are looking for a reliable individual to operate an automobile, forklift, or delivery van to transport cargo and materials. You will be responsible for receiving and dispatching cargo at the Suriname Warehouse, providing excellent customer service, and assisting with packaging, crating, and other warehouse operations.
Requirements
- Minimum of three HAVO/GCE/CXC/O-level passes, including Maths and English
- At least 2 years' experience in a similar role
- Valid driver’s permit (Heavy Transport) with a clean driving record
- Certificate of Good Character (issued within the last 3 months)
Competencies
- Knowledge of transport safety for fragile or dangerous goods
- Ability to communicate in Dutch and English
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Geographical knowledge of Suriname and ability to use GPS/GIS
What will you be doing?
You will ensure cargo is packed, crated, and secured properly to prevent damage or losses, complying with safety and security procedures. Your role includes weighing and measuring cargo accurately, operating forklifts and vehicles safely, and maintaining equipment and machinery. Additionally, you will provide excellent customer service to support customer retention and new business. You'll assist with packaging and loading/unloading cargo, ensuring proper documentation, and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the warehouse. You will also be responsible for securing vehicles at the end of the day and completing log sheets as required.
