Program Team Leader

Position Title: Program Team Leader

Location: Suriname

Creative Associates International is hiring a Program Team Leader for the anticipated IDB Suriname Curriculum Development in Lower Secondary Education project.

The goal of this project is to modernize the curriculum for Lower Secondary Education grades 9-12 of the General Secondary Education (AVO). The project will focus on reviewing an devaluating the current curriculum for grades 9-12; updating the curriculum, learning materials, and training of MOESC staff; and developing teacher training modules for master trainers.

• Educational Background: Holds a Ph.D. or Master’s in Education or a related field.
• Professional Experience: An established educational specialist with at least 10 years of experience managing complex educational projects requiring multidisciplinary expertise, particularly in challenging and variable contexts.
• Core Competencies:
  • Advanced skills in curriculum synthesis, evaluation, and problem-solving needed to address critical educational challenges.
  • Significant authority and autonomy, demonstrating innovation, professional integrity, and a sustained commitment to the successful completion of projects in curriculum design, development, instructional planning or other related areas.
• Specialized Experience:
  • Demonstrated experience with practical, “learning-by-doing” approaches in curriculum development.
  • Prior experience working with bilateral or multilateral organizations (e.g., IDB, UNESCO) is highly advantageous.
  • Experience with or knowledge of Suriname's educational context is considered an asset
• Language Requirements: Proficient in both spoken and written Dutch and English.
